Samsung’s march towards launching its next smartphone is picking up steam with recent approvals and leaks.

The upcoming Galaxy A56 5G has made its appearance on the certification platforms of China’s MIIT and TENAA.

Additionally, render images of the device have surfaced, hinting at what consumers can expect from the tech giant’s latest offering.

The device, identified by model number ‘SM-A5660’, is registered as a ‘5G Digital Mobile Phone’ on both platforms.

It boasts compatibility across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks, supports eMMB technology, and offers dual SIM functionality.

Both certifications detail that the phone will operate on the Android system. The MIIT certification, valid until January 3, 2028, is listed under license number ’02-D726-250066′.

From the render images, the Galaxy A56 5G showcases a sleek design with a pill-shaped camera module at the back, housing three cameras within circular units.

A LED flashlight is strategically placed beside the camera setup. The back panel bears the distinctive ‘Samsung’ branding, set against a flat surface, available in Black or Dark Blue shades.

The phone’s front features a flat display with a centrally-placed punch-hole for the selfie camera.

The frame of the phone has round corners and visible antenna lines, with the right side housing the volume and power buttons.

In terms of specifications, previously disclosed details suggest that the Galaxy A56 5G will be powered by an Exynos 1580 processor, paired with an Xclipse 540 GPU.

It is expected to offer 8GB RAM, feature Android 15 topped with One UI 7, and support NFC and 45W fast charging.

This news follows earlier certifications by the 3C and EMVCo authorities and a listing on the Geekbench database.

With the Galaxy A55 5G having been unveiled in March last year, the new Galaxy A56 5G seems poised for an imminent introduction.

Keep an eye out for more updates as they come, ensuring you don’t miss any details about Samsung’s latest venture into the 5G arena.
