Samsung Reveals New Gaming Monitor Lineup Featuring 1040Hz Refresh Rate
Samsung Electronics has officially announced its latest range of Odyssey gaming monitors ahead of the upcoming CES 2026 exhibition. This new collection includes five distinct models that push the boundaries of display technology with record-breaking specifications. The announcement highlights a massive leap in refresh rates and resolution capabilities that cater to both competitive esports players and immersive visual enthusiasts. These devices aim to redefine what gamers can expect from high-end desktop displays in the coming year.
The most attention-grabbing device in the new lineup is undoubtedly the Odyssey G6 G60H model. This 27-inch monitor is designed specifically for gamers who demand the absolute fastest performance available on the market. It features a native QHD resolution that runs at an impressive 600Hz refresh rate for incredibly fluid motion. The real breakthrough comes from its Dual Mode feature that allows the screen to switch to HD resolution and reach a staggering 1040Hz. This capability makes it the first monitor in the world to offer such extreme speeds for competitive gaming scenarios.
Another major innovation revealed by the tech giant is the Odyssey 3D G90XH which brings a new dimension to visual entertainment without the need for additional accessories. This 32-inch monitor utilizes a lenticular lens on its front panel to create a glasses-free 3D experience. It employs eye-tracking cameras to adjust the image in real time based on where the user is looking. The screen boasts an ultra-high 6K resolution to ensure that the image remains sharp even when displaying 3D content. Gamers can enjoy supported titles like ‘Stellar Blade’ with added depth or use the built-in conversion technology to play standard games in 3D.
Samsung also expanded its Odyssey G8 series with three new high-performance options that prioritize resolution and color accuracy. The lineup includes the 32-inch G80HS which offers a 6K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate for detailed image quality. There is also a 27-inch G80HF model that provides a 5K resolution and can boost its speed to 360Hz when switched to QHD mode. The third entry is the G80SH which features a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and a matte finish to reduce glare.
Hun Lee who serves as the Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics commented on the significance of these new products. He stated that the company designed these monitors to meet the ambitious demands of modern gamers by delivering experiences that were previously impossible. The entire lineup demonstrates a commitment to advancing display technology through higher speeds and unique features like glasses-free 3D.
