Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S25 have been swirling for months, especially regarding the chipsets used in these phones across different regions. A recent leak might have finally cleared up the mystery, just as the launch draws near.

According to tipster Tarun Vats, reported by SamMobile, Geekbench benchmarks show the international version of the Galaxy S25 running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM.

This is a notable shift from last year when the Galaxy S24’s international models used Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 chip instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

If this leak is accurate, it signals that Samsung might be standardizing its chipsets globally, opting for Snapdragon processors across all Galaxy S25 devices. This move has been rumored before but now seems more likely than ever.

Samsung’s approach to chipsets in its Galaxy S series has varied since 2012 with the Galaxy S III, which used a mix of Exynos and Snapdragon chips. The company has historically tailored the chipsets based on regional availability, aiming to balance performance and cost.

While Snapdragon chips are often seen as more powerful and efficient, Samsung has relied on its Exynos processors to reduce production costs and increase profits.

Switching entirely to Snapdragon would mark a significant strategy change, potentially simplifying production and offering a consistent experience for users worldwide. However, it’s worth noting that this decision likely involves a complex mix of licensing agreements, supply chain considerations, and performance evaluations for each new chipset.
