In a move to make grocery shopping as effortless as possible, Samsung has entered a multi-year partnership with Instacart.

The collaboration is set to transform how users of Samsung’s latest refrigerators, including the 2025 Bespoke models such as the 32-inch AI Family Hub+ and the new 9-inch AI Home, manage their grocery needs right from their kitchen.

These advanced fridges come equipped with Samsung’s AI Vision Inside technology, which uses internal cameras to keep track of what’s stocked.

This system can recognize and monitor up to 37 common grocery items, emphasizing fruits and vegetables. When supplies start to dwindle, the fridge suggests replacements via Instacart’s interface directly on its screen.

Users will have the convenience of reviewing these suggestions and adding necessary items to their shopping cart, all from their refrigerator’s display—no need to use a phone or another device.

While the AI helps in building the shopping list, the final purchasing decision rests in the user’s hands, ensuring control over what gets ordered.

This feature is a significant leap from older Samsung models where users had to manually update their inventory in the Samsung Food app before linking to Instacart.

The Samsung Food app will still be available for those who prefer manually managing their shopping lists.

Daniel Danker, the chief product officer at Instacart, expressed excitement about the development, stating, ‘We’ve all dreamt of a refrigerator that could replenish itself, and now thanks to this partnership with Samsung, that’s no longer the stuff of science fiction.’

The new feature is expected to roll out later this year through a firmware update that will also be available for existing AI Family Hub+ units.

This innovation leads us to ponder the future of kitchen automation—perhaps a day when a robot not only restocks your fridge but also organizes everything neatly, making dinner prep truly effortless after a long day at work.
