Investor Marc Andreessen recently stirred debate after sharing his experience in meetings with the Biden administration. He described the atmosphere as favoring a strategy to control AI development by aligning with just a few big companies. While Andreessen didn’t name names, OpenAI seemed like a likely candidate to benefit from this alleged plan.

However, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has firmly rejected these claims. Speaking on Bari Weiss’ podcast, Altman labeled the idea as a ‘conspiracy theory.’ He explained, ‘We were in a room with other companies and administration officials, but nothing was ever said about limiting AI development to a select few or forcing companies to comply with specific rules.’

Despite the dispute, it seems that tech leaders, including Altman, are now shifting their focus elsewhere. Reports show large donations being directed toward Trump’s inaugural fund, signaling a notable move away from the Biden administration.
