Retroid is a well-known name in the world of handheld Android gaming, offering devices that are both budget-friendly and powerful, making them perfect for emulation and native Android gaming.
Last year, we saw the launch of the Retroid Pocket 5 and the Retroid Pocket Mini, both of which received positive feedback for their performance and value. Now, the company is teasing a new device—the Retroid Pocket Flip 2.
Not much has been shared about the Flip 2 yet, but from the early look, it seems to follow a similar design to the original Retroid Pocket Flip.
It’s still a clamshell device, somewhat like the Nintendo DS, but with only one screen instead of two. The screen appears to have a 16:9 aspect ratio, though it’s unclear if it’s any larger than the 4.7-inch display of the first model.
A few updates stand out from the original version. For starters, the buttons are now sunken, which should make the device more comfortable to hold. The longer hinge is another nice touch, making the overall design more pleasing.

The device will also feature full-size thumbsticks instead of the sliding ones seen in the first Flip. The front-facing speakers are another improvement over the previous model.
As for the price, we can expect it to be around $200, similar to Retroid’s other handhelds. While the specific processor hasn’t been revealed, the expectations are that it will be powerful enough to run Android and support various gaming tasks.
Fans are eager to learn more about the specs, release date, and exact price, but with all the hints being dropped, it shouldn’t be long before those details arrive.
