There’s been a lot of curiosity about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, especially its lineup of games. Nintendo hasn’t officially shared much about their 2025 releases, but a curious listing on Newegg’s website might give us some early clues.

While checking out Nintendo eShop gift cards on Newegg, users noticed a list of ‘2025 games’ included in the product description.

Among the expected titles like Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, there are mentions of some surprising entries: a ‘new Mario Kart,’ a ‘new 3D Mario,’ and a ‘Legend of Zelda Remake/Remaster.’

The ‘new Mario Kart’ feels plausible since a sneak peek of it appeared in the Switch 2 reveal trailer. But it hasn’t been given a name or release date yet. As for the other two, things are less clear.

Neither a new 3D Mario nor a Zelda remake or remaster has been announced by Nintendo, leaving room for speculation. It’s also possible this listing was a mistake or someone’s guesses accidentally made public.

Still, if these games are real, they’d be perfect additions to the Switch 2 library, especially early on. The last original 3D Mario, Super Mario Odyssey, came out in 2017, and people have been waiting for another since then.

For Zelda, many would welcome remastered versions of The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, especially since they’re long overdue for modern consoles.

Whether these games are coming soon or not, we’ll probably learn more later this year. Nintendo is expected to hold a big Switch 2 Direct event in April, which might bring some answers.
