In the ever-evolving world of technology, AI startup Oh has just secured a seed funding of $4.5 million to enhance its innovative adult entertainment platform, OhChat.

The funding was led by Tangent along with other participants such as Kosmos Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, Bodhi Ventures, and Tagus Capital.

OhChat isn’t just another AI chat platform. It introduces a unique twist by allowing users to engage in text conversations with AI-generated model characters.

These characters adapt and learn from user preferences through a personal recommendation engine, offering a tailored experience.

What sets Oh apart is its ‘superModel builder’ tool. This feature allows users to create either an entirely original character or a digital twin, which can then be turned into an NFT.

The startup claims these NFTs can generate revenue, with creators keeping 80% of the income derived from their characters’ appearances in content.

The platform promises ‘immersive, uncensored conversations’ with favorite characters or digital twins of real-world celebrities, all licensed and with consent from the creators.

Nic Young, co-founder and CEO of Oh, highlighted in an interview with UKTN that their service is a safer and ethical alternative to existing services, which often involve non-consensual content.

Amid growing concerns about non-consensual sexually explicit deepfakes, the British government has been vocal about introducing stringent measures.

Alex Davies-Jones, Victims Minister, noted that new laws could imprison offenders for up to two years. Y

oung asserts that Oh’s transparency and ethical approach set it apart in a field otherwise shadowed by anonymity.

Young remains optimistic about the impact of OhChat. “The creator is kept completely safe, without needing to take up their time, as the AI does it all; whilst for us it’s near-instant, 24/7 available, personalized and cheaper than real content like Only Fans,” said Young.

This model of operation not only protects creators but also offers an affordable and accessible alternative for users.
