Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event Tickets Are Already Being Scalped for Insane Prices, Despite Being Non-Transferable
Nintendo’s next console, the Nintendo Switch 2, was officially revealed just a few weeks ago. The company also announced that a series of in-person demo events would take place before the system launches later this year. Now, reports are surfacing about how hard it is to get tickets for these exclusive events.
According to VGC, Nintendo has started sending out invitations, requiring attendees to confirm their spots. The first events are scheduled for April 4th, starting in New York and Paris. After that, Nintendo will bring the hands-on experience to various locations across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Right now, tickets are extremely limited. Nintendo has stated on their official site that anyone without a ticket can join a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. They also made it clear that tickets are non-transferable and can only be used once.
Despite this, some people have already started selling these tickets online for ridiculous prices. VGC reports that some listings on eBay have reached $1000 USD for the New York event. Although some of these have been taken down, tickets for cities like London, Madrid, and Italy are still being sold.
We won’t have to wait long for more details. Nintendo has scheduled a special Direct presentation for April 2nd, where they will share additional information. So far, we know the Switch 2 will have a bigger screen and magnetically attached Joy-Con controllers.
