Microsoft Grants Free Access to OpenAI’s o1 Reasoning Model for All Copilot Users
Microsoft announced that it’s making the advanced o1 reasoning model, previously a premium feature, available to all Copilot users at no extra charge.
The feature, dubbed ‘Think Deeper,’ will now be accessible to the millions of users utilizing Copilot, enhancing their ability to tackle complex queries more effectively.
Think Deeper allows users to delve into more intricate questions by selecting the Think Deeper option within Copilot.
Once activated, the tool spends about 30 seconds analyzing the query from multiple angles to provide a comprehensive response.
This feature is particularly useful for tasks requiring detailed comparisons, coding for applications, or planning extensive travels.
Originally introduced in October as part of Copilot Labs under the Copilot Pro subscription, Think Deeper was designed to experiment with new functionalities that could potentially roll out to a broader audience.
Following its initial success, Microsoft has decided to integrate it into the standard Copilot service without the need for a $20 monthly subscription, as confirmed by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman in a recent LinkedIn post.
Suleyman expressed his enthusiasm about the update, stating, ‘I’m genuinely so excited that our tens of millions of users are all getting this opportunity.’
He also hinted at more upcoming features, adding, ‘We’ve got so much more in the pipeline right now that I can’t wait to tell you about.’
This move by Microsoft not only democratizes access to advanced AI tools but also promises to enhance user experience significantly, making sophisticated tech support more accessible to everyone.
