Micro Reveals Its Microlino Spider Urban Vehicle in Brussels
At the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, Swiss micromobility company Micro surprised everyone with the world premiere of the Microlino Spider concept. This sleek vehicle is set to redefine short-distance travel by blending comfort, style, and sustainability. Aimed at both European and U.S. markets, the Spider offers a fresh approach to urban commuting and leisure travel.
The Microlino Spider, affectionately called the ‘Anti-Pick-Up-Truck,’ is designed to revolutionize how we think about mobility for those short solo trips. Whether for a quick grocery run or a leisurely drive around the neighborhood, this concept is all about practicality with a stylish twist.
Wim Ouboter, Micro’s founder and chairman, put it best: ‘The Microlino Spider isn’t for the 5% of trips where you need to carry a lot, but for the 95% where you’re driving alone.’ His vision highlights a shift towards more eco-friendly and efficient transportation, especially in areas where large vehicles dominate.
The Spider is the latest evolution in the Microlino lineup, following the classic Microlino, the Lite, and the Spiaggina. It stands out with its open sides, no doors, and unique design elements that make it as functional as a golf cart but with unmatched style. It’s perfect for places like golf clubs, hotels, and residential neighborhoods.
What makes the Spider special is its adaptability to the U.S. market, where it can legally drive on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph, making it suitable for more than half the road network. Micro is already looking for partners to help bring this innovative vehicle to life in the U.S.
Some key features include an optional fabric roof, wooden accents inspired by maritime design, and a color-changing paint finish that shifts from blue to green to purple depending on the light. The side entry system adds to the practicality and ease of use.
With its combination of modern design and environmental consciousness, the Microlino Spider is not just another vehicle; it’s a statement for those who want to travel smarter and more stylishly.
