Konami Hits Record Profits Thanks to Silent Hill 2 Remake’s Success
Konami has been doing well for years, especially in the Japanese arcade scene. With games like Minecraft Dungeons Arcade and Monster Retsuden Orecabattle 2, the company has remained a major player. But its latest success proves something else—we’re still hungry for the classics.
Konami’s Digital Entertainment sector saw net sales of 228,882 million yen over the last nine months, a 32% increase from the previous year. Operating profit jumped even higher, rising 44.6% to 80,817 million yen. A big reason for this? Silent Hill 2 Remake, which reached two million sales by January 2025.
It’s a huge win for Bloober Team, the studio behind the remake, and a reminder that we want more from Konami’s legendary franchises. With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater set to launch in 2025, it’s clear the company sees the value in bringing back old favorites.
We’ve had remasters, spin-offs, and even a TV series for some of these games. But one beloved franchise seems to have been forgotten entirely.
