As of June 30, 2024, the Kingdom Hearts series has sold over 37 million copies worldwide, according to Square Enix’s latest report. This includes both physical and digital sales, with over one million copies sold from March 31, 2022, to June 30, 2024.

The series’ sales saw a boost, likely due to its debut on Steam in June 2024, when several Kingdom Hearts titles were released for the first time on the platform.

The games that launched on Steam were Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + ReMind.

Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link and Kingdom Hearts IV are both still in development. These were first revealed during the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event in April 2022. Missing-Link was delayed in November 2024, and no official release dates have been set for either game yet.

Kingdom Hearts IV will kick off a new story arc called the Lost Master Arc, where Sora will explore the mysterious city of Quadratum, a world believed to be fictional in relation to the main Kingdom Hearts universe.

In manga news, the final chapter of Kingdom Hearts III was released on December 26, marking the end of the manga series based on the game. A total of 40 chapters were published starting in April 2019, and the fourth and final volume will be available in Japan on March 12, 2025.
