The wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal is almost over, according to the latest rumor. After months of speculation and leaks, it looks like the new console will finally be shown to the public later this week.

According to Nate the Hate, a reliable Nintendo insider, the official reveal will happen on Thursday, January 16th. However, this won’t be a deep dive into games or software. The focus will be mainly on the hardware itself, with a teaser trailer possibly giving us a first look.

This kind of reveal mirrors how Nintendo introduced the original Switch in 2016, when the company showcased the console first and followed up later with details about the games. This time, we can expect the game-focused event to come soon after, likely at a Direct presentation in February, which Nintendo holds every year.

If the leak holds true, we could see the Switch 2 launch as early as April 2025. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how Nintendo handles the rollout.
