‘Gundam Tribe’ Shutting Down After a Decade but Giving Players a Final Surprise

The browser-based online game Gundam Tribe is officially ending on May 27 at 6:00 p.m. JST, marking almost 10 years since it first launched. This was announced on the game’s social meida, managed by Bandai Namco Online.
Before shutting down, the game is running a special 10th Anniversary Pre-Final/Final campaign as a way to thank players.
As part of this event, the game is introducing ‘memorial units,’ which bring back nostalgic characters, along with new special units never seen before.
Players won’t be able to purchase anything in-game after March 31 at 6:00 p.m. JST, when sales, including premium currency banners, will be completely disabled. Once the service ends in May, the game will be unplayable.
Gundam Tribe first launched in June 2015 as a browser game that required a Japanese Yahoo account. Now, after nearly a decade, it’s reaching the end of its journey.
