Grammarly Plagiarism Checker Review: Is It Good or Overpriced?

Grammarly Plagiarism Checker Review

Throughout our life, we write a lot of content. Whether it’s your job or you’re a student, you will have to write a lot of seminars, articles, and papers. When writing such content, you need sources where you’ll find information. Sometimes it can happen that you don’t rewrite the sentences too well, or you accidentally end up copying too much content from that page. That’s why it’s great to use a plagiarism checker. These checkers make lives much easier for teachers who have to check if their student’s work is original. They also make it easier for writers and editors to spot any parts of the text that are too similar to something that already exists.

If you are a student and you don’t have the time to write college assignments, there is an essay writing source that you can use. Its authors can help you with any college paper with plagiarism free content.

One such plagiarism checker is the Grammarly Plagiarism checker. I have been using the free version of Grammarly for quite a while so I was interested to see if Grammarly Plagiarism checker really was as good as I’ve heard it was. I got the premium version of Grammarly and decided to test out the plagiarism checker. Here are some pros and cons of the plagiarism checker and whether it’s worth getting it.

Grammarly Plagiarism Checker Pros

1. Accuracy

Grammarly does its job well, it’s very accurate. However, you have to keep in mind that Grammarly only compares your text to other texts on the Internet, it doesn’t compare it to anything that is published in “hard-copy”.  That being said, if you’ve copied something off an Internet page, Grammarly will discover it.

2. User-friendly

It’s easy to use Grammarly. You copy your text and paste it on the blank page. You also have the option to upload a document from your computer. Once you enter your text, Grammarly will start running the full range of its services on your text. This includes basic grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and plagiarism.

3. A huge database

Grammarly has a really big database. It contains more than 16 million sources. This system can’t be duplicated by anyone, which means that only Grammarly has that database. That being said, there are some bigger databases. Even though those checkers have an advantage because of their quantity, their quality is lower than Grammarly’s.

4. Available on many devices

You can connect Grammarly to up to 5 devices at the same time. This is a great feature for a family, small office, or if you need to have Grammarly on more than just one device.

You can get Grammarly for computers, tablets, phones, and more. If you want to connect your Grammarly to your Android device, you are required to run Android 4.0.3 or higher. In case you want to connect it to iOS, you will have to be running iOS 9.3 or higher.

You can get Grammarly apps for both Windows and Mac computers. Most people use it as a Google Chrome extension, which is free.

5. Great customer support

Grammarly has a huge knowledge base where you can search for almost any question you have related to Grammarly. You can also send them an email if you have any questions. You will receive an automatic reply a few moments later that will say that they received your question and that it will be answered as soon as possible. Unlike most customer supports, Grammarly customer support usually answers your question after only a few hours.

Grammarly Plagirarism Checker Cons

English-only service

Grammarly only offers its service in English, which can be quite limiting. If you’re someone who needs a plagiarism checker for more than one language, then Grammarly isn’t for you. You will waste your money paying for more than one plagiarism checker.

It isn’t included in the free option

Even though Grammarly has a really good free option, unfortunately, a plagiarism checker isn’t a part of it. It is only available when you get Grammarly Premium, which is a paid version of Grammarly.

There are some differences between free and premium versions. Premium version offers advanced checks for grammar and context, it gives you suggestions for vocabulary, it checks your writing depending on the genre, and you can use the plagiarism checker. Some other features are that you can access your documents on more devices, get performance stats, add words to your dictionary,  see definitions and synonyms when you double click on a word, see explanations of grammar rules, and many more.

You can choose between paying every month, paying every quarter, and paying once a year. If you choose to pay for only one month it will cost you $29.95 per month. If you commit to a quarterly payment, you will pay $19.98 per month, and if you choose the annual payment you will pay only $11.66 per month.

Is Grammarly Plagiarism Checker Worth It?

Grammarly plagiarism checker is a part of the Grammarly Premium plan. This is a great plan in case you’re a writer or an editor. Grammarly Premium offers many benefits that make an editor’s life easier.

Grammarly plagiarism checker is a great system that combines a huge online database in order to pinpoint any plagiarism and adds links to those sites where the text was copied from. This checker comes with a lot of additional features that help both writers and editors.

However, this checker might not be for you if you’re writing or editing texts in languages other than English. It is also a bit expensive for students or other people on a budget.
