Scarlett Johansson is speaking out against the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) after an AI-generated video featuring her likeness went viral. The video shows her, along with other Jewish celebrities like Drake, Steven Spielberg, and Mila Kunis, participating in a message aimed at confronting antisemitism.

In the clip, an AI version of Johansson is seen wearing a shirt with a Star of David and a middle finger, making a statement against the rapper Kanye West, who has been involved in recent controversies related to hate speech.

In a statement, Johansson expressed her shock at the video (see below), saying it’s troubling to see her likeness used without permission. She made it clear that while she strongly opposes antisemitism, the problem of AI being used to spread harmful content is far more concerning.

The actress stressed the importance of addressing AI misuse before it gets out of control, noting that progressive countries are already taking steps to regulate AI, while the U.S. government has been slow to act.

Johansson’s frustration with AI misuse isn’t new. Last year, she threatened legal action against a company that used her AI likeness in an ad without consent. She’s also spoken out about concerns with AI-generated voices, such as one resembling her own used in OpenAI’s ChatGPT system. She’s calling for clear legislation to protect individuals’ rights and prevent AI from becoming a bigger threat.

In the midst of all this, Kanye West is facing backlash for his recent Super Bowl ad promoting products with Nazi symbols and offensive messages. While Johansson didn’t mention him directly, her message aligns with the growing concerns about the power of AI and its potential dangers if left unchecked.
