AMD Finally Reveals Its Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT Graphics Cards and Price Ahead of March Release

AMD has just announced its Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards, and I’m pretty excited about the prices they’re offering. These cards will launch on March 6 and will be priced at $549 for the RX 9070 and $599 for the RX 9070 XT.

The XT model promises to outperform the RX 7900 GRE by up to 42%. These new cards are aimed squarely at competing with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 series, so if you’re shopping in the mid-range market, these could be a solid choice.

What stands out is that AMD isn’t trying to beat Nvidia’s top-of-the-line cards this time. Instead, they’re targeting the mid-range market with cards like the RX 9070 series. The RX 9070 XT, priced $150 cheaper than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti, looks like a solid competitor.

Now, should you buy one? The RX 9070 XT has a strong case with its price-to-performance ratio. AMD claims it offers 23% better performance per dollar than the RTX 5070 Ti, based on their benchmarks. The card might not have the raw power of Nvidia’s high-end models, but it could be a great deal for those looking to save money and still get solid performance.

While Nvidia continues to push AI tech like Multi-Frame Generation, AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture and features like FSR 4 could be a great alternative for gamers who aren’t keen on AI-based upscaling.
