Business Insider reveals that AEM has introduced its WMO-compliant Apex Automated Weather Station (AWS), offering a new standard in weather monitoring. This advanced station is built to provide highly accurate and reliable data, even in extreme environments, and meets the strict standards set by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The Apex AWS ensures precise measurements that are essential for accurate weather forecasting, climate research, and disaster management. It enables seamless data sharing across regions, which improves global coordination for weather monitoring.

This system is designed for continuous performance with minimal upkeep, handling even the toughest weather conditions. Its scalable design means it can adapt to future needs, providing a lasting solution for various sectors.

The Apex AWS is packed with high-tech features like ultrasonic wind sensors that measure wind direction within a 2° accuracy and wind speed within 0.2 m/s. Its rain measurement system uses advanced load cell technology to provide highly accurate data, even in light rain. It also includes a secondary standard pyranometer to monitor solar radiation, and it offers precise data for air temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure.

The system’s communication setup includes a data logger with a 4G modem and supports various protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, and SMS, all secured by TLS 1.3 encryption.

This AWS is suited for a wide range of users, including national meteorological services, research institutes, and private sector businesses in aviation, energy, and utilities. It helps these sectors make informed decisions and improve safety using precise weather data.

AEM continues to lead the field in environmental monitoring, providing solutions from installation to maintenance. The company’s Apex AWS integrates with its Elements® 360 software, which streamlines data sharing and enhances coordination for better decision-making.
