‘Star Wars: Hunters’ Has Announced It Is Shutting Down After Just Nine Months, Servers Going Down in October

The Star Wars: Hunters video game was launched on June 4, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch and mobile. The game was a free-to-play player-vs-player competitive arena combat game and while the critics weren’t amazed, the game developed a solid fanbase.
This is why the news we have to share with you might hit hard, so brace yourselves. Namely, just nine months after the launch, game developed Zynga has confirmed that Star Wars: Hunters is shutting down. The final update will be released on April 15, 2025, while the serves will shut down later this year.
And while it was obvious that the game won’t be around for the next 20 years, a shutdown after just nine months seems a bit of a shock, doesn’t it? We don’t have the numbers related to the game, how well it did financially, that is, but it seems that these numbers were far worse than the numbers we saw from the reviewers.
Here is the confirmation:
So, as you can see, the final in-game update will arrive in about a month, and the servers will be closed on October 1, 2025, when the game will no longer be playable.
Another piece of bad news is that there won’t be any refunds for the players. Season passes and in-game purchases with real money won’t be refunded to the players, and the devs have stated that they have announced the shutdown so early so that the players can max out their pre-bought bonuses before the end of the season.
