Quantic Dream, the studio behind the upcoming Star Wars: Eclipse, confirmed that it hasn’t been impacted by recent changes at NetEase. Guillaume de Fondaumière, the CEO, posted that both their Paris and Montreal locations are running smoothly. The studio is still working hard on its projects and has several job openings available.

This comes after a rough start for NetEase, which recently laid off US-based staff working on Marvel Rivals. Rumors suggest that NetEase is looking to sell off some of its studios outside of China, despite publicly affirming their commitment to developers abroad.

However, other studios like Rebel Wolves, working on Blood of Dawnwalker, reassured their teams that they are safe.

Quantic Dream, known for narrative-driven games like Detroit: Become Human and Beyond: Two Souls, joined NetEase in 2022. Fondaumière mentioned that the studio hit its highest revenue in 2024, largely thanks to the success of its previous titles. Detroit: Become Human alone reached 11 million units sold last year.

As for Star Wars: Eclipse, it was first announced in 2021. Set during the High Republic era, the game is expected to release in 2026. The reveal trailer teased a scene with Yoda watching over Coruscant from the Jedi Council room.
