Game Freak, the company behind Pokémon, is working on a new smartphone RPG called Pandoland. The game is set to launch in late April, with pre-registration already open on both iOS and Android. Players who sign up can earn diamonds, which will help with the gacha system and can be used for 100 pulls.
Pandoland is a casual RPG where players explore dungeons, find treasures, and collect items and characters. The game promises over 500 characters and items to collect, and you’ll need to build a team to help with your adventures.
The trailer shows a group of characters sailing across different islands on a boat while encountering a giant squid.
This isn’t the only project Game Freak is working on outside of Pokémon. In 2023, they announced Project Bloom, an action-adventure game that will be different from their usual style. They are teaming up with Private Division to develop it, but the game’s future is uncertain since Private Division was sold to an unknown buyer last year.
In addition to these, Game Freak is also busy developing Pokémon Legends Z-A, which is set in Lumiose City from Pokémon X and Y. The game is expected to release on the Switch this year. We might get more details during Pokémon Day on February 27, especially with the usual Pokémon Presents live stream.
