Xiaomi is gearing up to release its latest foldable smartphone, the Mix Flip 2, expected to hit the market between April and June this year.

This launch narrows down previous speculation that only indicated a release in the first half of the year.

The new device is rumored to pack a 5,100 mAh battery, an upgrade from the 4,780 mAh battery in its predecessor, although it falls short of the initially expected 5,600 to 5,700 mAh.

The Mix Flip 2 is not just about battery life. It is reported to be the first flip-style foldable phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Enhancements include an IPX8 water resistance rating and support for 50W wireless charging, which points to substantial improvements over the previous model.

Additionally, the smartphone is said to come with an improved design that minimizes the crease issue seen in earlier models and introduces multiple color options and customizations tailored towards women.

In terms of camera technology, Xiaomi is making a switch from a telephoto lens to a 50 MP ultrawide lens while maintaining a dual camera setup.

The upcoming Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 appears to be thinner than its predecessor, positioning itself as a potentially appealing choice for those seeking the latest in foldable technology.
