Ford has unveiled a beast of a machine, the Mustang Mach-E NASCAR EV prototype, at the Ford Performance Season launch on Thursday night.

This isn’t just any electric crossover; it’s a high-octane, race-ready marvel that blends the thrill of NASCAR with the innovation of electric motoring.

The prototype doesn’t shy away from showing its strength, drawing from Ford’s deep NASCAR roots.

It features a trio of powerful electric motors nestled within a carbon fiber tub, supported by a 78 kWh battery.

The exact horsepower hasn’t been disclosed, but with Ford’s track record, including the monstrous 1,400 hp SuperVan 4.2, expectations are sky-high for the Mach-E’s capabilities.

This electric racer incorporates some of the best of NASCAR’s current technology, sporting a finely adjusted suspension, top-tier brakes, and precision steering and wheels from the NASCAR Cup Series.

It’s clear that Ford isn’t just experimenting; they’re redefining what an electric performance vehicle can be.

Ford isn’t new to the EV demonstration scene, having already introduced a slew of electrified heavyweights like the F-150 Lightning-based SuperTruck and the Super Cobra Jet 1800. The new Mustang Mach-E prototype is another bold step in that direction.

The stakes will be high at the 103rd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb scheduled for June 22, 2025, where the Mach-E will be put to the test.

Behind the wheel will be Romain Dumas, a seasoned champion with multiple titles, including last year’s win in the electric F-150 Lightning SuperTruck.

Dumas also holds the record for the fastest ascent at Pikes Peak, a record set in 2018 with the Volkswagen ID.R.

As the race day approaches, all eyes will be on Dumas and the Mustang Mach-E. Can this new Ford prototype outdo its predecessors and set a new record?

We’re eager to find out, and we’ll keep you posted with the latest as Ford gears up for another electrifying race day.
