New PlayStation 6 Rumors Supposedly Reveal Release Window
A new leak suggests that the PlayStation 6 could arrive sooner than expected. The PS6 was initially rumored to release in 2028, alongside the next Xbox, but recent information challenges that timeline.
Leaker Kepler_L2, who has a solid track record with hardware leaks, claims that the PS6 is already “design complete” and entering pre-si validation, with an A0 tapeout set for late this year. This suggests that the PS6 could hit shelves in late 2027, likely around November.
Typically, there’s a two-year gap between the A0 tapeout and the console’s release, which fits this new timeline. If accurate, the PS5 generation would last seven years, mirroring the PS4 generation.
Interestingly, the PS5 Pro’s release previously led many to believe the PS6 would come in 2028, as the gap between the PS4 and PS4 Pro was four years.
The leaker also revealed that the PS6 will likely use a GPU based on gfx13, though details about its size are still unclear. While all of this information comes from a reliable source, it’s still unconfirmed, and things could change.
Sony hasn’t commented on these rumors yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates. As of now, take it with a grain of salt!
