Google Search Reportedly Adding Dedicated ‘AI Mode’ Soon

In a move that’s stirring up the tech community, Google is reportedly gearing up to integrate a fresh ‘AI Mode’ into its search engine.

This update, sourced from The Information, aims to simplify interactions by positioning a new AI Mode tab alongside existing ones such as ‘All,’ ‘Images,’ ‘Videos,’ and ‘Shopping.’

The anticipated AI Mode will offer users a dynamic way to engage with Google’s search engine, mirroring the capabilities of its Gemini AI chatbot.

Positioned on the left side of the existing tabs, this feature is designed to streamline the user experience by providing conversational responses coupled with related links and a prompt for follow-up questions.

Details of this development were echoed by Android Authority, which highlighted sightings of the AI Mode in a beta version of the Google app earlier this month.

Further digging by 9to5Google suggests that the new mode might even support voice queries, enhancing accessibility and user interaction.

Google, however, has not yet confirmed these reports, as inquiries by The Verge remain unanswered.

The push for integrating AI more deeply into search functionalities comes as no surprise, especially with OpenAI advancing its ChatGPT search capabilities for all users.

This October, Google expanded its AI-generated search summaries to additional countries, indicating a clear shift towards more AI-driven services.
