Microsoft Has More PS5 Games Coming Than Sony and Big Xbox Exclusives on the Way

Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan recently shared that Microsoft has several unannounced games in development. In an interview on the Xbox podcast, Duncan mentioned he spends considerable time playing these in-house titles. He stated, ‘We’ve got a bunch of stuff we haven’t announced, so obviously I spend a bunch of time with that.’
Microsoft plans to release more games on PS5 this year than Sony, including titles like ‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,’ ‘Doom: The Dark Ages,’ ‘Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition,’ ‘Age of Mythology: Retold,’ ‘The Outer Worlds 2,’ and ‘Ninja Gaiden 4.’ Additionally, the highly anticipated ‘Fable’ has been delayed to 2026 and might also come to PS5. Other upcoming games include a new ‘Perfect Dark’ and ‘Gears of War: E-Day.’ Rumors suggest a ‘Halo’ game could be heading to PS5, and Microsoft has confirmed multiple new ‘Halo’ titles are in development.
Duncan also commented on Nintendo’s Switch 2 announcement from January, expressing excitement about the new console. He remarked, ‘It’s cool to see Nintendo finally show off the console,’ and added that he’s ‘always curious and excited’ about Nintendo’s plans. Prior to this, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer hinted at bringing Xbox games to Switch 2, aligning with Microsoft’s multiplatform strategy.
Recently, Duncan was promoted to head of Xbox Game Studios after leading ‘Sea of Thieves’ developer Rare.
In summary, Microsoft is gearing up for a significant year with numerous game releases, including several unannounced projects. The company’s strategy to expand its game availability across platforms, including potential releases on Nintendo’s Switch 2, reflects its commitment to reaching a broader audience.
