Sonic Rumble, Sega’s party game inspired by Fall Guys, was originally planned for a late 2024 release. However, it didn’t launch as expected, and now the free-to-play game is set for its global release in spring 2025.

Sega also wanted to thank everyone for their patience, adding they are focused on delivering a great experience for Sonic fans.

The game had an early-access phase before, with a limited set of features. For its full launch, Sega will update it to version 1.2.0. This update will introduce a new competitive game mode and a feature called Crew, allowing players to team up and enjoy the game together.

Another addition is Quick Rumble, which offers shorter, single-round matches for those who don’t have much time.

Once ready, Sonic Rumble will be available on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. As for consoles, the last major Sonic release was Sonic X Shadows Generations in 2024. The next game for consoles and PC is Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, which will launch later in 2025.

In other Sonic news, the next film, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, will hit theaters in March 2027. The movie series has been incredibly successful, grossing over $1 billion from its first three films.
